Placed our order!
We are not new members of the forum, as we joined a while back to gather information But this is our first post, because as of yesterday, we are officially on our way to becoming Escape owners! We put our deposit down on a 21' and have a late January completion date. We will pick up in the spring. We've done extensive research through this forum, which has been oh so helpful, and have many of our options chosen, but will undoubtedly be asking questions for the few items we are still conflicted about. Looking forward to meeting y'all on the road somewhere!

Congratulations, and welcome out from the Lurker Shadows. Good luck with your registration process when you get your 21 back to TX [emoji6]

Nothing wrong with being a "lurker". Sometimes it is those lurkers who never post who say the most intelligent things on a forum topic!

Congratulations
Congratulations on the purchase. You can't go wrong. I just ordered my 7th trailer (2nd Escape) and can tell you these are the best on the market. Sorry Airstream.

We have also booked a build date, January 16. We don’t plan on picking up until late May or June. We want the trailer to sit for at least 3 months so it has time to off gas. Also, are there going to be any campgrounds open late April. I haven’t started planning a trip home yet.

We haven't chosen a pickup day yet. Will most likely be early to mid May. Retirement is tentatively scheduled for March for my husband and late April for me. Planning to leave right after that. So trailer will be stored for a few months. We will need to schedule our pickup soon, as ETI said LOTS of people want to pick up in May and go to the rally in Osoyoos.

Hi - congratulations on your new Escapes!
We are joining you too. Build date is January 31. But we won’t be picking it up until April or May.
We’re still fine-tuning our build sheet, and trying to find the right fabric and color for the interior.
Did you go with the Maple or Oak?
I wondered... which overall is the lighter-weight wood? Does it make a difference?
Anyway, keep us posted on your build and plans. Maybe we could all meet up!
Cheers!

Our build date is Jan 29, working on our build sheet. Will be posting some questions today, for my husband. We share an acct here. As for me, I'm all about the decor! We are going with maple. Have no idea about the weight of maple vs oak. We found our fabric and need to order, hopefully tomorrow. Ordering from JTs in Canada.

Congratulations! Sounds like you’re well on your way. This forum is filled with information, just scour it based on your search criteria.
Yes I’ve heard of JT’s. What kind of fabric are you going for? I’m looking at ultra leather-polyurethane. The color I want seems to be elusive!

We are going with Sunbrella, a textured fabric. We live in the Dallas area and there is a fabric warehouse area. We went to a shop that had all the sunbrella fabrics in sample books. We got to look at and touch many fabrics. Maybe you can find a good local place to look, then shop around for best prices.

Thanks for the tip. Yes I’ve spent the better part of the last week searching online at every possible link. But now it’s time to get out and about and see if I can find a little discount warehouse somewhere...
I am from Texas too, just temporarily living near Chicago for DH‘s job. Do you like your area? I noticed there’s a lake there. Seems like you have your camping, fishing and recreation right there!

Yes, we like it. Lots of places to camp and explore in Texas, but have been limited to 3 or 4 day trips. But next year retirement, so are looking forward to going for weeks at a time.

Sounds like you and I are on a similar path. DH retires in a year or so. We tend to take longer trips. So excited!
