Welcome, Bernese Bunch. I can never quite get why picking up and carrying a toilet around is preferable to using a sewer hose at a dump. You might want to just get the bathroom with standard toilet. I suggest you talk to someone about it at a campground. Better yet, go to the dump when someone is dumping and talk to them and see the general set-up.

I started out as a newbie camper this fall and just took the advice on this forum. Let the black go followed by the grey, run a sink faucet and nothing but clear in the hose. No problem. Loren

Manage 25 public restrooms, 6 municipal pools, clean the monkey pens in a city zoo, butcher 2,000,000 hogs on a kill floor, raise three kids and spend 10 years as a scoutmaster after growing up cleaning gas station restrooms every night for 6 years and using the camper dump station becomes child's play. The human skin and good antibacterial soap are two of the wonders of the world. Candy bar anyone?

Sadly yes. I did run into an old high school friend tonight when we were out to eat. He remembered me as crazier than I rembered myself and had support stories that made my wife shake her head. 50 years this June.

cassette toilet

We have a Lil Snoozy with a cassette toilet that was one of the reasons I like it beside rear door entry .If you are staying more than a few days the bigger black tank is a much better idea . if staying overnight or for a day or so (4-5gallons) the cassette is easier to deal with . They are starting to put them on some truck campers now . it would be nice to see a cassette in an Escape trailer and a flat door with a built in screen door Like Casita and Snoozy .
The reason I like the Escape trailers is there use of space. A lot more usable storage around the trailer upper cabinets and better for boondocking with propane heat ,cooking ,hot water etc. I was pleasantly suprized to learn how well the fiberglass trailers hold their resale .We missed a couple of escape trailers but will probably wait for 4/1/16 and order a 5.1TA unless one comes up sooner

In my opinion a flat door would negatively impact the visual appeal of the Escape design .
It would be easier to manufacture and instal. That is likely why others do it.
I hope Escape does not change their moulded door design in the future.

And I'm very happy with the disappearing screen door on our Escape - except for sweeping the floor near its track.

And the Escape does have a built in screen door. Just ask all of the folks whose dogs went through it while it was closed. Loren

We have the old style bi-fold door, and it sweeps the floor for you when you open or close it.

Loren we mounted a wooden baby gate that I cut to fold up , attached on sink cabinet by door that keeps the babies off screen . My counter I cut down and it always stays up so it is not in the way . Pat

Mary it is a pain . One of those micro fiber towels that everything sticks to helps . Also can use them to wipe down shower too . Pat
