Proud new owners of 2013 19' Escape

Hi all,

My wife and I purchased a late-2013 19' Escape last weekend. Picked it up in Seaside OR and drove to our home in Seattle. Can't wait to get it out for it's inaugural trip once we get the kitchen, bedding, etc fitted out.

We were on the production list for a 2016, to be delivered in February. However, this used unit came up for sale and had all of the options we were looking for. So, lucky us, we get to join the Escape community 8 months sooner than planned. Gave up our production slot, of course.

We looked at other fiberglass RVs but settled on Escape because of the strong user community, build quality and customizability, strong value retention, and the relatively close proximity of the factory to us.

Our first big trip will be a 3-4 week WA-CO-UT-CA-WA loop in September/October. We'll take some shorter 2-3 day shakedown trips up to the Cascades the balance of the summer.

Towing with a 2012 VW Touareg TDI, getting ~24 MPG at 60-65 mph and 1,600 RPM. Not bad!

Looking forward to many great experiences and getting to know many of you on the owners forum!

-Chris and Janelle

Nice! I wouldn't hesitate to buy a used one (we did actually with the 17). Saw a couple pulling a 25' Airstream in Big Sur last year with same TV...you should be just fine.

There's a fiberglass rally in Bandon, Oregon July 16-19. Might keep an eye open for cancellations.........
