I have a 2017 Sprinter 2500 cargo, 144 wheel base, high roof, with a 3.0L V6 BlueTEC Diesel.

If you were to take the time to keep a running total on responses, my guess would be as follows
Ford F-150
Dodge Ram 1500
Chevy/ GMC 1/2 ton
Toyota Tundra
Toyota Tacoma
All other pickups

Then there’s the SUV group
Full Sized Ford SUV
Full sized GM SUV
Toyota Highlander
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Some Durango’s
Some Toyota Sequoias
All others
Just my opinion not looking for validation or an argument. Bill S walked the Osoyoos rally and made a list I think. He pulls his 21 with a diesel ram.

If you’re shopping for a tow vehicle start with the specs of what you’re going tow. According to ETI web site the 19 has a 5000 lb gvw. That in theory could give you a 500 lb tongue weight. So what ever you decide on had better be rated to tow at least 5000 lbs and have a payload capable of carrying all people pets and stuff you intend to take + 500 lbs More is better as tow vehicles usually hit their payload limit before the tow limit. There are vans, SUV’s, and pickups that’ll do the job , you have to decide what works for you.😎

2016 Tacoma TRD Off-road. Fast way E-2 WDH hitch, very happy with this set up with the exception of fuel tank size on the Taco for longer range.

Bopper,

If you notice Iowa Dave's listing, it shows he tows a "classic" 21 which is slightly lighter than the current model, and possibly in the weight class of the current 19. He is very happy with that combination, but he is more experienced than most, and is attentive to location of weight items that he loads.

We towed the first 20,000 miles with our V6 4Runner, but it took my close attention to engine and transmission temperatures, and gear selection. A full size pickup is a much more relaxed experience, requiring much less worry. Several like the Canyon/Colorado diesel, and a few use a Honda Ridgeline, but again, I like the full size if you want the " I barely know it's back there" experience. Ford is popular with its various engine choices--V8, V6 turbo. My son just got the 3.0 L Chevy diesel and loves it to pull his 6,000 boat.

Try throwing out your preferences and see what people have to say about them.

Pull Vehicle

We started pulling our 2017 19 foot with a 2005 Tacoma. We had no problems driving through the mountains in BC. We upgraded our truck to a 2018 Tundra. It gets very similar fuel economy when towing but has a fuel tank that is almost double in size. Greater range without looking for fuel. The Tundra also has better braking which was good for peace of mind.

Tacoma or Tundra work well. Range and comfort played a roll in our decision when it was time to upgrade our tow vehicle.
