pulled the trigger on a 17B

Hello everyone, My name is Mark and I've been lurking on this forum for about a year.I've been wanting to purchase a 17B for quite awhile. Tons of great information on this site. All the debates and reasons pro and con on all the possible options is fantastic.
Well my partner Shane and I drove up to Chilliwack a couple of weekends ago. Looking at the display models there was fun. We put our deposit down on the 17B. I know I know get the 19 instead. We can't really tow the 19. I don't want to get another tow vehicle. If I get the dreaded 2footitis, I'll just have to self medicate (several beers).
We stayed at the Best Western next to ETI. After hearing good things on the forum. Yes there are dog friendly. Really a nice place.
Here's are our build sheet options:
Maple Interior
2 way hot water heater
toilet shut off valve
Dual 6V batteries
170W solar panel with charge controller
Surge protector
Removable power cord
Power awning
Air conditioner with digital thermostat
Stereo/DVD player with two speakers
TV/Cable ready with 120v outlet
Extra insulation and framed thermal windows
Power tongue jack
Exterior access hatch
Spray foam insulation
Storage box
Exterior 12v/USB outlet
12v interior outlet for TV
Convert rear dinette to permanent bed
Custom formica (Midnight Stone)
Custom fabric (Refined Indigo)
Teal graphics
Our completion date is July 9th. I'm so jacked right now. thank you all for your opinions.

Mark

The 17b is a perfect little trailer that I am sure you will enjoy. If the bed was a little bigger we might have selected that as well. Three of us did many years in a Boler which is much smaller. We just were not willing to have a small bed again.

Hopefully 1 beer will do it. The 17b is a great trailer, and the 52" bed on the newer models is roomy enough for us, although I don't think the length is great for anyone over 6'. We're dedicated 17b'ers ourselves, although I'd probably admit to having 1 foot-itis if I was self medicated enough.

Your build looks great. Hope you enjoy many years of fun adventures.

I think your build looks great.

If you really want to get opinions tell us what about your tow. Forum members love to express pinions about tows. :j

What kind of camping do you plan? We’ve used our AC about twice in four and 1/2 seasons. But who knows with global warming we may need it more often.

Welcome to the forum !

Congratulations on the new Escape 17B Mark. You made a great choice and are sure to have many happy trips with it!

I like your avatar! I have a very similar looking Tardis in my basement TV room that I built several years ago with my daughter!

We plan on towing our 17B with a 2016 jeep cherokee 3.2 liter V6 24-valve VVT engine. Jeep has the factory tow package. It's rated at 4500 lbs. I really think towing a 19' is pushing the safety factor.

Our house is this color. Right now I'm remodeling the back door entry to look like the TARDIS. I know it's goofy. I guess I have too much free time. My build completion date can't come soon enough.

We bought the 17B on October to pick up in March. We are upgrading from a tent trailer and think it is the perfect size. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Mark, We think your build sheet and choice of a 17B are excellent !! We toured across North America on vacations for 15 years in an A-liner, much of the time with kids and dogs, and loved it. Never found the size of the camper to be a significant factor in the quality of the adventure.

Cool Tardis. You never know who might come out of one, but they always seem to be driven by a desire to make the world a better place.
