Snatched a "pre-owned" 2015 17B

Stumbled up this site when looking for "ultra light travel trailers" some time back. Immediately feel in love with the Escapes. Had a Triple E Surf-Side many years ago when the kids were young but we grew out of it and the teenagers did not want to camp with the "old fogies". So after a couple of years of non-use we sold it. Now more than 20 years later I've decided we should go camping again! We're retired, so why not! Life can really be too short.

Wanted a 19 but pre-owned are scarce as hens teeth. And, you have to stay up nights watching to snag one! Didn't want to wait a year before getting back out, soooo, started to search this site. Found an almost new one, emailed, made and offer and was accepted. Bummer that it's a little over 2,000 kms (1,242 mi) away, positive that our grandchildren live there, positive that we now have an Escape! So, we'll give the 17B a whirl and if we really get into the traveling camping mode and find it too small, we'll order a 19 or 21. At least we don't have to wait to travel/camp. First trip being to go fetch it!

RL Campers

Hi. We responded to ad as well.....but you replied first. Lol. If you decide to go to a bigger Escape, send us a note. We have been looking for an Escape as well. Went on a tour in Chilliwack last summer and watched the building process. They are well built. Anyway, enjoy!

Sounds like you got Derril's exceptional 17.

Congrats to both buyer and seller.

lornam.beebe,

Apologies, a bummer that there always has to be a positive and a negative in situations like this. Do hope that you are successful in finding an Escape. This next year will likely determine if the 17B is expansive enough for the "Bride" of 43 years. If not, we will "look you up". But we do hope that you are successful in finding one before that.

Congratulations! I just bought my "new to me" 17B this week too! Maybe we'll meet up on the road sometime. Enjoy your maiden voyage bringing your new escape home.

We are retired and content with our 17B. We don't need a truck and can tow this with our RAV4. A key feature is that Pat is athletic enough to climb over me to go to the bathroom at night when she has to on rare occasion. (TMI?) The two person dinette is sufficent and we have plenty of storage for toys in the RAV 4. Who needs 19?
