Tent camper looking to move up soon.

I've tent camped my whole life. My wife and I teach and enjoy the summers off. I have a few years until retiring and have been looking at the Casita 17's. Actually was looking at them well before the pandemic came and spiked the prices 30-40%. Anyway, I saw an Escape 17b for sale and I started to look into those. I think I like them better than the Casita. So I'm looking, learning and saving and hope to find a well loved used unit sometime soon. Or just bite the bullet and order a new one. So what do the import taxes add to a US purchase?

$160.00 Importation fee plus a $16.00 tire levy.
Sales tax is paid in your state when you register the trailer.

We looked at Casita first too. But my wife couldn’t get past carpet on the walls.
Than the 15 b came up for sale and we were on our way.

I still enjoy my wall tents and spend 90 days a year in them.

If I can make a suggestion I would jump on that 2013 19 that was recently posted! Not terribly far away from you in Illinois.
