We're officially on the books
Well, we decided. And we were jolted a bit to do that.
A couple of days ago, I happened to click on the "Production Schedule" on ETI's website, and noted that all the August dates for the 17 production were gone. We had planned to visit ETI in November, check it out and then decide. But an e-mail dialogue with Chrystal at ETI yesterday changed our mind. As of today, we called, put up our deposit, and we are on the schedule.
Sept. 18, 2015 is our new 17's birthday.
As of tonight, Oct. 14 is the only date left for 17's. Wow. We "just" made it. (We really had pretty much decided, yes, when we got Pat's tour of her 19 last week.)
All I can say now is, if you are on the fence, the window for 2015 is closing fast. Our due diligence in research made the decision to buy an Escape a very straight forward and comfortable one. We wish you well if you're considering it.

Wow! When we ordered the lead time was around 7 months and now its almost a year! Think maybe they're a little busy at ETI?
Congrats on your order.

Thanks.
I expect that we'll report a full, full house when we see ETI's production line in November.
And Crystal, I apologize for misspelling your name.

Congratulations, Don and Teresa, and welcome to the forum. When I placed my order, the wait time was only about 3-4 months but I chose a seven-month-out date for pick-up. I needed all that time to figure everything out and even then was in a bit of a panic at the end. Enjoy your planning period as it will go fast!

Hi Folks,
My things have changed. Two years ago Escape was offering a discount for trailers manufactured in the winter to keep up volume.
Sorry to add to your to do list, but I don't the Prius C can tow even small trailers and will certainly not have the 3500 lb towing capacity required for your 17' Escape. Lots of folks have used the 2012 or earlier RAV4 6 cylinder with tow package. That is our plan when we pick up ours in two months.

I think the Prius C reference was tongue in cheek.

I was gonna say that.
One of the reasons I jumped on buying a demo unit was the apparent time penalty in changing trailer order. All good.

Do you use a weight-distribution hitch with that rig?

Alan,
I thought about using a WDH, but a photo of the wagon levitating would have been too unsettling.

LOL
... but it would be the back of the Prius being lifted by the wagon.

Looks like that Radio Flyer RV should be in the vintage campers rally, but I'm sure the new ones don't compete with the Escape 15.

Congrats. Escape must be very busy, they are expanding and hiring new staff. Many more escapes to come. I can't wait to use ours; just got a 2 yr old 17B.
Happy camping!!
