crossing border

I'm picking up my 21 in Sept. Would the passport card be the way to go? How long are they valid for and should I start the process now? Any other suggestions on getting into BC and back to US. Thanks....

The card is sufficient for Canada (and perhaps Mexico) but not further afield. Both the card and passport are good for 10 years -- except for kids which have a shorter duration. If you go to the State Dept's website you can learn all you need to know.

Takes the same amount of time to get either one, similar in price, good for the same number of years... get the passport. You never know when you'll win the lottery, inherit from your long lost great-great uncle you never met and THEN want to travel the world!

A sign of the times. Every vehicle traveling north on I-25 is diverted through this checkpoint.
Smile. In the southbound lanes an array of cameras on the shoulder take your picture.

Big Brother has been watching far longer than most of us realize.
