Easy Registration/License in WA

WA has my check, I have a license plate & registration, title to arrive in 3+ weeks; just waiting for Aug 26 for ETI to bring my new 5.0 across the border.

It couldn't have been easier. I received the paperwork from ETI a couple days ago. Today I stopped by a WA vehicle licensing agent's office, the paperwork was checked over, fees determined, check written, and I walked out with my goodies and a much lighter checking account.

I should have waited a week, tho; maybe more. The plate has a July renewal. I don't get the 5.0 until Aug. With a delivery on the 26th I could have even stretched it into Sept. But, with Washington's $30 annual tab fee (plus all the miscellany fees they add on that come close to doubling it) a month or two of unusable license fee was only a small part of the total of that check I had to write.

Insurance next but that will wait a few weeks.

Can't say about other states, but in Oregon it's by the month. I'm cheap. I knew I was going to pick up Ten Forward after July 1. No point in getting a plate and tags before hand... and pay for a month(s) I didn't have possession. I walked in July 1st to DMV and got what I needed. THAT will pay off years ahead for ME.

Montana, I could only get temp tag, but it was good for 45 days. Picked the temp tag up 1 week prior to picking up the trailer.
Once I had the customs paperwork back home I could obtain the actual tag.

Nice thing in Montana for trailers you can pay one time fee and get permanent tag.
