Easy, safe payment option for Canadians

Today I paid for my Escape and it was simple to do. I went to my bank and got a bank draft for "Escape Trailer Industries". The only slight glitch was the teller spelled it "Trailor" on the first attempt. Always check the bank draft carefully before you accept it! Then I travelled a short distance to a TD bank where I was able to deposit the bank draft into the account number that ETI provided. There was no problem doing this, even though I'm not a TD bank customer. ETI was able to provide confirmation of the payment within an hour. I'm paying in advance of my pickup date so I can get insurance and registration finalised before I start on the journey to Chilliwack. Now I don't have to worry about the bank draft getting lost and I didn't have to pay wire transfer fees.

We had no issues at all with payment from Arizona. I went to my credit union and gave them the information provided by Escape accounting department and my credit union issued a wire to TD Bank. Within 24 hours the wire was received and payment in full made on our trailer. This was 2 weeks ago.

Hi: cpaharley2008... We are customers at TD bank/trust in Canada and the US. They are completely different companies. Don't ask me how I know!!! Alf

I would use TransferWise.com to transfer money for USA customers. You get a good exchange rate which is far better than your bank that don't charge you a transfer fee.

It is. Even without, it's not difficult. It took me no more than 10 minutes to wire the money...

Just FYI - exchange rate is now moot for US customers - all US customer transactions with ETI are denominated in USD throughout the process, ETI's Canadian TD Bank account for US customers is denominated in US dollars, there is no currency conversion at all for the US customer or their bank.

Yes, the same holds for 'small-amount payments' via ETI's online payment system (handled by "Stripe") using your credit/debit card - it's an all USD transaction, your card company has no opportunity for gaining a currency-conversion windfall.

Yes, that's different from 2014 (noting the year of your trailer), but it's the 'immutable rules of the transaction' with ETI now for US customers, like it or not. There's simply no reason to involve TransferWise at all.

BTW, I had the same experience as kathytony1985 - my local small-town bank had no problems wiring to ETI's TD Canada Bank USD Account, receipt was confirmed by ETI in hours.

Easy, secure, and quick, No Worries!

I have a separate account that I use for my wire purchases, easy to set up and manage with todays bank apps.

I was hacked once right after a wire transfer going from my bank to a title company, so now I move the cash into the wire account just before the transfer purchase and primary accounts stay safe.

I was reimbursed but it seemed there was little could be done to catch the criminals.
