I owe so how?

I need to make the "payment" on the new escape. Am going to send check on 1/1/17 but how does the us to cdn work? I will be over paying. What happens then? FYI, this will be full amount for purchase.

You can look up the exchange rate and then make the check for a little less than owed. You can then pay the little left at pick-up. Or they may owe you a little. IF you are picking up. If not, you need the have the full amount paid by date of completion.

Call Tammy for a figure; you can subtract up to $3K and pay with a credit card at pickup for the balance. Many don't charge foreign exchange fees but best to check.

We were told to be careful about over paying because it would be refunded with CAD.

We received a large refund that ETI converted to American dollars.

You can call Tammy, but she'll tell you it will be approximate based on the date she deposits your check. There's a certain volatility to foreign currency that's expected.

Julie, Since your 21' completion date is still several months off, you might want to send them a check now for, say, 95% of the total, then wait until it clears ETI's bank (3-5 days for mailing from Idaho?). ETI will e-mail you an updated build sheet showing what you still owe them in CAD. Assuming you previously paid $2,500 CAD as a down payment, that should put you somewhere near their limit of paying the balance off over the phone by credit card - maybe. If you over-pay, just have them add another option that you wanted but held back on...

We did pretty much as described above. Just sent a check for approximately the USD amount at the time. Once it cleared Escape's bank, we wound up with a slight credit, which we put to good use on pickup day, to cover the cost of some same day add-ons.

We went to our credit union (Navy Federal Credit Union) and they did everything necessary to transfer the "exact" amount to ETI. Turns out we'll owe $3 cad on pick up day but that was pretty darn close. Was nice to know walking out of the bank exactly what is was going to cost US $.
