Insurance

I'm trying to decide on insurance for my "Suite Escape". Has anyone had experience with either the good Sam's policy or the Camping World one? I have AAA (California) and it is close to $100.00 more annually than the others and that's with a $500.00 deductible.
Any helpful information will be appreciated.

Re: Insurance

Hi: SandraL... We added "Our Escape Hatch to our auto policy. All State charges us $240.00 per year with a $300.00 Deductible. It is covered for only $25,000.00 if total'd tho.
I always hate to be over insured so am willing to accept some of the responsibility!!! Besides at this point it spends the majority of its time in a storage shed.
Because we have so many vehicles when the truck/trailer goes into storage I take most of the ins. off the truck. Alf

Re: Insurance

Got my insurance from Aviva ( Vacation Trailer, Camper Unit, Motor Home Policy ). Have to keep in mind where the trailer is stored when not in use, that it is not rented, and that I am in Canada.

Basic coverage, required by British Columbia is $22. Third Party Liability ( $2,000,000 ) is $16. This comes from the government insurance company.

I got the Deluxe coverage. Guaranted replacement cost / all risk. $250 deductible. Has $5000 for personal property. $200 a day Emergency Vacation Expense. Premium is $217. Got a ten per cent mature discount so Total Premium was $195 plus government policy of $38.

Mature? How did you swing that.
Don't you mean a 10% old fella discount?

Re: Insurance

Thanks for the hints. I am getting down to the wire so, I've got to find something soon. If worse comes to worse, I'll get AAA.

Re: Insurance

Hi Sandra. I got an estimate from Camping World and it was quite a bit more than just adding it to my other insurance with State Farm. Can't remember the amount, but it really wasn't bad.

Re: Insurance

Another idea here. I always check J.D. Power and Associates ratings when looking for insurance. They give amica high ratings http://www.amica.com/about_us/awards/awards.html

they offer auto and boat but I dont know about RV. Might be another company to check out. Good luck.
