Insurance on a 15A? (Washington state)

I am looking into insurance for my 19, due in April '17. Spoke to my current insurance co, The Hartford (AARP insurance), and was told that they would not insure my trailer if I lived in it, (will be full timing). Also, they don't cover contents.
So I will need a different company. Has anyone else who is full timing had a problem getting insurance? Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that I'll be living in it Any info/recommendation would be appreciated!

Escapees, yes... but those are RV parks, not mobile home parks. Quite different - mobile homes are not RVs (they are not used for travel).

Except I know folks that live in "Park Models" in one of those Escapee parks. To me a Park Model is a mobile home.

I believe Norm and Ginny (FGRV) have a mobile home type structure and their trailer in one of these parks.

Bobbie - I'm a State Farm Agent and you will need year built, manufacturer (Escape) and model (15A). Your agent will then be able to look it up. Of course the vin is needed to complete the application.

There's the confusion. A mobile home is moved - by specialty commercial haulers with a permit for oversize load and equipment to lift and carry it - to the residential location, and although it may be moved again most never do; they don't even have axles or a tongue left attached to them now. Traditionally, a park model trailer is too large and awkward to travel with, but can be towed as a trailer whenever desired; once parked, it is left intact and able to move again if desired.

Although some properties may contain both types of unit, and the lines between the types are very blurred (such as by park models that are too wide to be towed routinely) they are distinct.

Escapees is for RVs, not factory-built houses. A park model is extreme for an RV park, but I'm not surprised they're allowed in many of these places, where spaces are large and long-term leases are available.

Park Model trailers are designated for recreational use, and also get registered as a trailer. The also must be less than 539 sq ft.

I had looked into building on a bunch of years back, mainly to use as a cabin at our land, but ended up getting a 19 instead.

Yes, and I think Escapees is a good suggetion
What's needed is insurance for a full-timer in an RV (such as an Escape, or a park model trailer); that's different from home insurance (even for a mobile home), so it helps to be clear about what is being requested from a source of insurance.

There are several companies that sell full-timer insurance and Escapees has some discussions on their forum about it. Or you can just call them and they will tell you a few.

Classifying as a Park model may have a great deal to do with the sewage and/or gray water situation, not what we use for our trailers.

I went to the Good Sam website, and navigated thru to RV insurance... and did a quick estimate ...... although it'll be a bit inaccurate as they had the American 'Escape" trailers listed.... completely wrong models and company...

The website I ended up on had the company name "national general" as a part of the URL - not Progressive. I wonder if there was a company name change, or ... ?

and i'd have to specify dual solar panels, etc, to get complete coverage..... maybe give the insurer a copy of the build sheet..... to make sure i was 100% covered...

and

i did read a very happy post from someone here, recently, who had 100% replacement Good Sam, and had their Escape totalled in a recent flood.

any other good or bad experiences with Good Sam RV insurance?

Good Sam Insurance is a broker. They can sell insurance from several different carriers. I suggest to talk to one of their reps for more detailed information. There may be more than one replacement value option.
