We arrived in Chilliwack on Saturday and had orientation on Tuesday. I was there at 8:30am but the trailer delivery contractor did not arrive until 10:30 to take the trailer to Sumas, thus I returned to Best Western around 12:30. Fortunately we requested a late checkout and we got on the road by 2 pm. It is a lovely drive from Chilliwack, maybe 2 hours to Osoyoos. Be sure and get your propane tanks filled at Escape and water. Good luck....

Partial plate?

Hi: All...Woke "Escape Hatch II" up from winter slumber only to find her plate missing!!! Must have blown off during the trip to storage. All that was left were little bits under the rusted bolts. SURPRIZE!!! That plate had been on 3 trailers so far, but gone now. We towed home without, but I have a spare. Now we only have to go to "Service Ontario" to switch registrations. No job is done till the paperwork is finished. Alf

Hi Alf
I had two plates tear off at the bolt attachment points on the 19. Ours are thin flat aluminum, not very strong. I sold a car very close to the time the registration ran out so I saved the plates rather than turn them in for a refund. I used them as backing to our Escape plate. Three thicknesses instead of one did the trick, no more problems as there is no flex in the setup now. Also a tight bolt in every hole for perfect alignment even though the bottom two bolts do not attach to the trailer.
Just a thought.

It is interesting how each state handles tags differently. In California, the tags stay with the vehicle, in Pennsylvania the tags stay with the owner!

Alf, I think it's the name. Escape Hatch one had its plate disappear, only finding out when the border agent asked me to get her the plate number and I then noticed it missing. I didn't even think of checking for the plate whilst loading the trailer for our winter trip to AZ.

I had to turn around return to Canada, look around at home, not here, then north for fifteen minutes to our insurance agent for new plate, back to border, now a longer wait, at least got the same agent. One time I was certainly glad to live on the border.
