Provincial Sales Tax

We are, indeed, pondering an Escape and live in Canada but outside BC

When we buy it from Escape,, when we import it into our province, we need to pay our province's sale tax.

It kinda seems like we don't have to pay B.C. sales tax:

Vehicles Purchased for Use Outside BC
If you purchase a vehicle in BC for use outside BC,
you are exempt from PST provided all the following criteria are met:

the vehicle is a type that is eligible for registration under the
vehicle registration legislation as defined in the Provincial Sales Tax Act (i.e. it is not a vehicle that cannot be registered),

the vehicle is purchased for use primarily outside BC,

the vehicle will not be used in BC for a business purpose
,

the vehicle will not be registered in BC, and

if you are purchasing the vehicle as an individual, you are not a resident of BC.

Any past experience to support my staring at /exploring of gov web pages? Thanks,

Generally true... you don't pay provincial sales taxes in both provinces on anything, if you can arrange the purchase correctly. I'm pretty sure Escape has worked through this and so they sell it without B.C. provincial tax, having confirmed that you are not from B.C.

We were not charged BC Provincial Sales Tax when we bought our Escape. Since we are from Alberta, we had no Provincial Sales Tax when registering it in Alberta either.
