Replacement Coverage for 2022 21C (QShip)

Will pick up QShip (2022 21C) in mid-January. Just arranged insurance with the Hartford with replacement coverage for 4 years, $46000 value. $750 deductible for most other losses except for Personal Property, which is $100. No towing since we have coverage elsewhere.

Think that an annual premium of $717 is reasonable after shopping around. What do you all think? Anyone have experience with the Hartford for a claim?

To me that seems a bit high. We have home and auto with AAA and we insured our 5.0, which we pick up on 1/3, for full replacement value and deductibles lower than yours for about $300 annual. I should say that we have been with AAA for 12 years now, not sure if that matters, and they are a PIA to deal with when trying to add vehicles, but their rates are good and they are very attentive when you need to file a claim.

Premiums are lower with multiple coverages too, but USAA doesn't offer rv insurance, refers it out

$495 for $40K full replacement coverage on a 2017 21C with Progressive. It is difficult to compare insurance coverage since it varies by many things, including zip code...

$717 for coverage in 78748 (my old zip code) would seem pretty good, I think....

Since mine is covered by homeowners insurance while in the barn at home, I don't bother with insurance any more.



If I screw up, I pay. If somebody else screws up, they pay. Been sued, have sued others, and it's all a blame game. Over time I have found a few lawyer hours to be cheaper than the trailer insurance rates.


Motor vehicles are a whole different issue. I stay insured and then some (umbrella policy.)

In your situation it is definitely all about how much risk you are willing to take. The caveat is for those who store their RVs in a storage facility, they usually have to provide proof that the RV is part of their auto/home policies.

We store our Escape on the military base where I work and have to provide proof of insurance for the trailer, tow vehicle, name of first born, etc. On the bright side we get RV storage for dirt cheap and our Escape is guarded by folks with guns.
