Rock Solid As Pea Gravel
A heads up for anyone financing their Escape trailer. We're four weeks out from our trailer being complete. I've had more trouble with Rock Solid Funding than seems reasonable. From the text out of the blue, a few months back, that said, "let's talk about funding," But the text didn't say who it was from. To, today's fiasco trying to scan my driver's license into their app. At one point, the rep asked me if I was "using a valid driver's license."
Enough red flags. I bailed and went looking for financing elsewhere. I was surprised to find out my beloved USAA insurance (and now banking) company doesn't lend money to someone who's planning to make their purchase in a "foreign" country. Yeah, thanks Global War on Terrorism. This had me quite worried upon hanging up from that call.
However, three's a charm. I contacted my credit union, who holds my truck loan. Yep, not a problem. Underwriters have no problem with me buying my Escape trailer from British Columbia, Canada.
I'm frustrated that a company with such a great reputation as ETI... could get dragged through the Texas dirt. Had we not already had such a strong relationship with the company... I'd have walked away. Maybe decided it wasn't time to buy a trailer. At least a new one.
Happy ending to the story here in Oregon. Just want folks to know... do your due diligence in shopping around for the best loan to fit your needs. And the most credible company to represent your financial needs.

I won't address anything other than the drivers license. Were you perhaps trying to scan the new Real ID drivers license? The holographic film that's all over the surface turns any scan 'weird.'

Indeed I was. And I explained that suspicion to the young lady. Yet they asked if I were the problem with expired identification.
That is not my problem. It is however an excellent identifier of those not keeping up with present technology... real id already several years old.

As it turned out... USAA, OSU Credit Union, and a couple other entities were unclear on the concept of foreign purchases.
Never fear. ETI's Tanya, in the finance office gave us the info for New Coast Financial, in Florida. Marvin Pojani was a gem! Pure professionalism and approval in short order.
Also... a simple photograph of my driver's license was plenty for identity verification. What a refreshing concept. No weird third party scanning apps.
So... a couple of days of grief, but back on track as our E19 is getting built, as I type. Hurray!

For future use when you decide to sell your Escape, have Escape do a walk thru video for you.
This is the one they made for me. I see it as a great future selling tool.
Best wishes on your upcoming adventures!

Oh, wow! That's very cool. While I hope we have at least a good ten years on the road. We are 60, and 61.
We did think about resale in terms of still having a black tank installed, though we won't use it. Composting toilet for us. And we know the black tank will give future owners more options.

I'm just trying to picture how the Texas dirt wound up in Oregon.... Pardon my weird sense of humor!
