Right, that should work. We're getting the WA temp tags because we're reentering Canada for an 8 day trip before returning to the States and meandering back to California. Just unsure if all the ownership and export papers will cut it with Canadian authorities.

We had no trouble with bringing our trailer into CA with the ETI paperwork. I had made an appointment with DMV for the next day and went then with the trailer attached for inspection (they have to see it). I will say that the DMV workers did mess up on identifying the trailer as a motorhome, which costs a lot more in fees. We got a manager who cleared it up. My recommendation is that when they do the inspection, make sure they put the trailer in the correct category - as a travel trailer only!

That brings up the issue of CA registration. If you search back through the discussions on this forum, I think you'll find that the current consensus was that the best solution is to stop at the Mt. Shasta City DMV (Exit 738-Lake Ave off of I-5, NE of I-5 1 block to 154 Morgan Way, in a small shopping center), because they know what's going on and you can walk out with your new license plate & reg.
(By contrast, we registered in Ventura County: took 3 trips to DMV and many, many hours of time).
