As with any used Escspe purchase, the trick is finding one. They don't come on the market as often as many other brands, and when they do, they don't last long.
I would have no qualms about buying a used one, provided it's been well maintained. Escapes are quite durable and hold their resale value.
Keep an eye on this forum as well as fgrv.com for any listings that come up. If one does, the only advice I would have is to act fast.

My wife and I went through the same process, we decided to go new as we could order exactly what we wanted. The process has been quite exciting for both of us.
As rbryan4 said they hold there values for us a new one with everything we wanted was about $10,000 over used. With the American dollar the way it is against the Canadian dollar you get about a 30% discount
You will find lots of good information on this site, good luck with your decision.
