RV still available
Yesterday, we came to an agreement with K & K for the full asking price; a $1000.00 deposit was sent to secure the purchase and pick up was arranged for this Thursday (Happy Dance). First thing this morning, we were off to the insurance office to get insurance for the drive back then we made reservations for the 12:45 ferry to the mainland; our truck was packed and we were ready to go. As we were making sandwiches for the road, K & K phoned us wanting to know if we would agreed to pay $1000.00 more for the RV; said he received many phone calls afterwards, being told he may get more money. Greed obviously got the best of him. Long story short, be careful, who you do business with The RV is still available.

That is really sad to hear. Some people have few morals and less brains.

Thats so sad and frustrating. I know the great excitement of finding a trailer and getting ready to go pick it up. So sorry that happened to you.

Had a similar experience some years ago with a much different product. Turned out a short while after that, I got a better product for a better price.
Hope OP has the same experience.

I was one of those that had communicated with him over a couple of days in trying to find out a little more about the trailer. Finally last night I was told by them that it was probably sold so I forgot about it. Now that it's available again, I think I'll still forget about it. Too risky to do business like that.

Thanks for the kind words.....
Thanks to all for your kind words (we are still in a state of disbelief). Reading your comments gives us hope to eventually finding the ONE!!! We also quickly realized that the Escape Trailer Owners group are a great group of thoughtful people and we look forward to meeting up with you one day.....Thanks

Hate that people do business like this...really very disappointing. What a jackass RV dealer. I hope he gets stuck twenty miles off the road without cell phone service......

So sorry he put a pin in your balloon . Not much character. I wouldn't touch that trailer now no matter what the price is . It can just sit as far as I am concerned . Pat

Barnyard
Here in Iowa we have descriptions for those kind of people and they al seem to revolve around what's left after the animals leave the barnyard.

Dirty. K&K should be crossed off everyone's list going forward. Ads should not be accepted here from them in the future.

ISeyes, so sorry this happened.
Not one good word here for the other party! How can people live like this? Having no conscience?

First, I have no knowledge on this particular deal so I really can't comment on the seller or buyer.
However, as a collector and restorer of vintage steel bicycles I have had sellers up their price to me after the deal is done a couple of dozen times. I refuse to play the we had a deal now we don't game. I've even had sellers call me back a few days later trying to get the same original deal (their windfall vanished). I just pass. There are enough fair deals out there I would rather miss out on a few.

selling trailers
When we sold Lil Snoozy we had numerous phone and e-mail requests .We finally settled on a price and time frame to deliver we wanted to keep the trailer until Sept 1st to use last Summer I even dropped price $500 so I could use it for a few months . I kept getting higher offers but a deal is a deal a small deposit and a handshake and the new owners are thrilled .
When selling anything trying to hold out for the last Dollar is not a good way to do business Hopefully it is always a win -win situation .Jim

Simple. Karma will do it's thing, duly reward folks with what they deserve. It is fine to take multiple offers, but once a deal is made and a deposit accepted, the dealing is done.
