WTB Escape 17A

Hello compatriot Escape-ers. We are the proud owners of an Escape 19, and have decided that the 17A best suits our way of camping. We had a close look at a 2017 today from an owner who lives nearby (he is not selling), and the trailer fits very well. Here is our wish list:

Must haves:
1. Insulated walls
2. Insulated windows
3. Furnace

Other nice to haves, but not a deal-breaker:
Air conditioning
Kitchen window

Location:
We will drive to Chilliwack if we order a new 17A if none come up on this forum, so purchase anywhere in the USA is ok. We live in Pittsburgh, PA, so something in the east or central parts of the USA would be nice. At far distances, we will want to have photo and questions exchanges before we commit to purchase. And, we will naturally want to conduct a pre-purchase inspection.

I am a bit daunted by the import/inspection requirements of a used Escape 17A coming into the USA, so I will have to learn much more about the inspection and import procedures in order to purchase a used Canadian Escape. If we order new from Chilliwack, I have no qualms.

Please contact me through this posting thread, or via a private message in the forum.

Many thanks!
David Anderson

Donna, I am amazed at your fast responses

Thank you for your quick response, Donna. I always appreciate your thoughtful responses when I read them in the forums. I hope that we will meet sometime in Escape-land.
I sent a phone text to the seller, and we have not communicated much since then. Her $30,000 asking prices is at the top of our price list, but do-able with the right features.

Custom upholstery, aluminum wheels and some other nice-to-haves are not high on our list, but will consider them, certainly! 17A's are not exactly as rare as unicorns, maybe more like yeti sightings .

You're most welcome. There's another 17A in Blaine, WA that MAY be for sale. I'll let the owner tell you the story, but here's part of the thread, it's actually within the ad for their 21' that's for sale. Perhaps this might turn into a win-win? http://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f1...tml#post296265

I hope that it's a win-win. I have sent a PM to him.

He has decided to keep the 17A. Thanks for the lead.

We have just placed our order with Escape. They are offering $2000 off of trailers produced in October.

I agree! As owners of a 19 and followers of the Forum, we are familiar - thank goodness - with so much already. My husband and I are pretty decisive, so I expect that our build sheet will be one within a week. We then need to get our custom fabric to Chilliwack.

Thanks for the good wishes!

In September, we will put the 19 up for sale. First, the Niagara wine tour...
