I think the new body style started with 2017 models... actually some of the 2016 models made later in the year may have had the new body style too, I believe.

The new style without aircraft style door started end of Summer 2016 .Oct for sure because that’s what we have The newer style is a little more boxy and weighs a few hundred pounds more Mine left Escape at 3600 lb s I like the door with a screen door instead of the pull screen Jim

What is the difference?
Just out of curiosity, what is the difference between the older and newer 21' trailers? I know the shape is a little different, but what else?

Separate door and screen door and a bit more room inside, at least..seems to us at least from the newish ones we have examined in campgrounds recently..we need more room for grandkids ;-)

Better fridge, standard doors, a little wider, option for frameless windows.

Gen1 and Gen2 floorplans are virtually identical with the same amount of space. Gen2 21 & 5.0 trailers have a raised floor in the dinette, whereas Gen1 are flat.

A fairly new E21 will cost almost as much as a new one, depending on options. You can get a basic Escape which is nicely appointed. I had over $9,000 add on's on my last Escape pushing it into the $40's canadian. Don't forget the exchange rate cuts that price by 25%, something a used US trailer will not have.

Yes, we already 'wish-listed' about $40000 Can for a new one. Minus the exchange rate and the sale of our nice Casita we might as well get a new "21"..but if a really nice new-ISH one comes along we will look of course.

Are you positive it’s a little wider? We measured our old style 21 at the belly band and compared it to a new style 21 and the new style was a few inches narrower. However it is difficult to measure exactly because of the rounded corners. Also the awning arms definitely make the old style 21 wider on the outside.

The shell is more square on the new then the old, opening up the upper and lower quarters a tad. There is now a notch in the upper drivers side for the awning. Main thing is the new door, needed to allow a better fridge to get through it.
The new door provides a better seal then the old style, which has a gap here and there. It also gets you away from the roll up screen door, whether or not that's an improvement is up to the buyer.
There are other changes but as far as I can tell they had nothing to do with the need for the new door and hence the straighter walls.

floor??
Wondering why the floor is slightly raised @ the dinette.
I see they raised the sill @ the bath door..was there a "splash" problem w the older style bath doors??

No change in bath sill, the raised rear floor is from 2017 forward.

I believe the original reason for the raised floor at the dinette is just cause it fit's people better. Mine is from before the raised the floor and my 5'3" wife needs a box under her feet when at the table. No such issue at 6'2".

If the Canadian dollar rises, which is predicted, a new "used" trailer will be less expensive than a new one. Your remark only applies if the Canadian dollar goes down.

Canadian dollar has been rising. It's not "if". What happens next is anybody's guess.
