21 bath sink drain question

I've found a nice stainless bar sink I'm thinking about installing in my 2014 21, but before I start taking things apart, I'm curious if any plumber types out there have taken the drain apart (as Canadian plumbing practices are different.) Can't image that drain plumbing sizes are any different, but without a P trap this is new territory for me.........

Be aware that the kitchen sink requires a vent to operate correctly. Escape doesn't install one which makes their trap essentially a S trap instead of a P trap which has been illegal code wise for several decades.

https://homeandgardenmakeover.com/s-...he-difference/

Just install a Hepvo which doesn't require a vent and you are good to go.

edit: bathroom sink - not kitchen sink! Sorry about that!

That's the winter project. I bought a 2nd bathroom sink from Escape to use for modeling. Planning on a small formed Corian countertop with the undermount sink; think the faucets will have to come up an inch or so unless I work out a drain approach to work with the Escape piping.

When I removed the bath sink in our 2014-21, I found the mounting block was just epoxied to the inside of the bath insert, not glassed in. So I'm diving in trying to adapt my Turkish-made sink to Canadian plumbing (note the open vent under the sink) using American plumbing parts. Probably going to have to relocate the TP holder too, as the sink is a bit longer and deeper. More fun to come!

Go Charlie! Caution tho on the TP holder: we don't want another drill through the trailer as has been reported here previously.

The holder is mounted with 2 screws you can get to once the TP is removed. I plan on using VHB tape to reattach it at another location - I haven't actually removed it yet, though. I don't think it's actually screwed into a glassed in mounting block as the fiberglass around it can be depressed a lot.

Well dang. I had hoped it WAS mounted with VHB tape. I don't want to sit on the throne and stare at two holes in the wall. Maybe I can cover the holes with bullet shot decals

Or s couple of rivets with snap-caps; Casita style. I'd put a good battery powered motion detector light over the holes for night time visits - already have one on the other side myself.

Progress report

Thinking I may route the sink discharge over to the ETI S-Vent as there is more room to get there around the ETI Canadian plumbing. Or maybe not. Have to find the fittings online as no retailer carries them in 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 inch sizes. Might just go to a hose fitting to get the drain set up as the space is tight if you still want to get on and off the pot easily. First pic is no sink, 2nd pic is bent corain - which one can do with a serious heat gun and a form (mine was 2 inch radius.) Wifey wants corian for the counter AND sink surround. It's a learn as I go thing.

It might help if you need to redo the plumbing. The area in the pic below that is circled in red is the location of the piping tee that the bathroom sink attaches to. The piping comes up through the trailer floor, makes a 90, goes across shower step to under the sink, makes another 90, then goes up to the T, the up again to the air admittance valve.

It can be accessed by removing the plywood in that area. In trailers that have the cubbies, an access cover can be installed under the cubbies and the plywood cut in the wall behind to access the piping. The access cover will make it so the plywood cutout doesn't show.

That is how Reace repaired all those 2017 21s where he had installed braid reinforced PVC tubing for the hot water lines. Of course, braid reinforced PVC tubing ruptures when used in hot water service so he had to do the cross country trip to fix them all before the flooded trailer claims started pouring in.

Thanks for the pic; I'm going to try to avoid irreversible changes to the stock plumbing first. Might wind up down this road, but don't want to have to tear out my custom cubbies right now.

Coming along. For a larger sink like that you might want to consider a new faucet with a high rise nozzle and a longer reach out over the sink. Something like this was posted by another forum member not long ago:

We've decided to keep the OEM faucet as it has the shower riser. Decided we didn't want to mess with an aerator style shower attach. Actually I never use that sink - this is a wifey wish.
