Defective Sewer Hose

Just a warning to new Escape owners check the sewer hose carefully that comes with your trailer. My first dump revealed several pin holes in the hose which made quite a mess to clean up. A word to Escape please upgrade this hose the one you put in your trailers is worse than not putting one in at all.

The one I got in 2018 was pretty flimsy too, although it didn't seem to have any holes. On the advice of this group, I replaced it with a Rhino, which has worked wonderfully and is completely reliable. No worries during the dumping process, which for me was initially somewhat stressful. Nothing to it now!

We also purchased a Rhino hose for our 21, per the advice of those here, (very sturdy and nice) but have kept the stock one as a back up, or when 2 hoses would be nice for a longer set up. However, it just occurred to me that we've never used the stock one, and after your post, I feel compelled to test it with fresh water to make sure there are no leaks. No use carrying around a leaky hose. Thanks, Bea

Hi: LFlory... Nothing worse than a "Bum" sewer hose. Usually you don't find out till you're ankle deep in ..it. Alf

I've used mine twice in 2 months. No leaks so far but does appear flimsy. Got a Camco RhinoFLEX from Amazon as a backup but now think maybe I'll go ahead and toss the other and avoid potential disaster.

I have used the hoses supplied for a while, but always upgraded to the Rhino hose. While it would be nice if Escape supplied these with new trailers, I could make a list of a couple thousand dollars with what I would like upgraded. I just did it myself later, and had fun doing so.
