The panels they were showing and referring to were also in my opinion ,very cheap . The panels some of us have installed are very different especially on surface . I just gave trailer a bath a couple days ago and always inspect panels , everything looked as it should . The surface on at least my panels is a mat black not shiny like panels mentioned. The surface on my panels is new technology invented in Japan . Anyway so far happy and hope to get the 10 years they are warranted for . Pat
Thanks Pat. Since the article was dated 8/2018 and panels were used for at least two years then they were installed in 8/2016 at the latest. I know a lot of advancements have been made since then with many different players. Researching the Lensun panels a bit more I see that they are made differently with unique top sheet and bottom materials. The Lensun panels are ETFE while the panels in the article were likely cheap PET panels. I wish AM Solar would update their information because this seems to be unfairly condemning all flexible panels. I also see that SunPower makes flexible panels and they make some of the highest quality and most efficient panels on the planet.

My Lensun panels have been in use for just over 2 yrs and do not look or perform any different now than they did at the time of installation. That being said, I do not live in an area that is known to have super hot year round weather conditions. Two years here may be the equivalent of 2 months in the Arizona sun. However, I do expect to get much more life out of my panels than 2 yrs. Given that they are only taped down to the roof of my Escape, it will be a very simple matter to change them out if any problems do arise.
