Generator mounted on Escape 21 rear bumper

Greetings Escapees,
I'm thinking of welding a plate on the rear bumper of my 21to mount my Sportsman 2200 watt generator. It would be secured so that it can't walk off and have a cover to protect from the weather Has anyone tried this?

I have a stinger with a plate welded to it that has a locking mount for my Honda EU2000i. It can be secured in the receiver of my truck or the Escape. I don’t typically take the generator when I go camping unless I am evacuating Florida due to an approaching hurricane. I prefer to use the truck’s receiver because the generator is more “out of sight” when we are towing and under the sleeping loft of the 5.0TA. And locked to the truck, I can move it and a potential source of carbon monoxide away from the trailer.

Yeah, but you have a 5.0TA, Rich has a 21'. Hard to use the tow receiver for two things at once.

Yes, true. More or less just commenting that it essentially has been attached and transported on the trailer’s bumper. I would be a bit nervous operating it in that location due to potential infiltration of CO.
