Suburban SW6DE electric element is 1440W which equates to 12A at 120V.

Yes, that electric element in water heater with the refer on electric and the a/c operating, you are just about at your max 30 amp draw. Just do not turn on your microwave or instapot. That is how brownouts occur at cgs in the summer, everyone sitting inside with all the luxuries of home......turn off those energy hogs and get outside and enjoy the fresh air, you are camping........

While I agree with your main point that in a CG one is camping and being outside in fresh air is preferable (unless the neighbor has a smoldering wood fire spewing smoke in your direction), I would be more inclined to believe that brownouts are a result of inadequately wired campgrounds. If the campground is going to offer 30 amp/50 amp hookups, the infrastructure should be designed to supply the full load. Unfortunately, many campgrounds have not upgraded their infrastructure to keep pace while RVs have become more consumptive of electrical power. It’s similar to water supply. While the pipes inside homes are typically 1/2” or 3/4”, the water mains, depending on how many homes they serve, have to be much larger or turning on the tap could result in a trickle.

Fortunately, when CG water lines are sized inadequately, we have beverages other than water to quench our thirst!
