A couple of years ago, ETI was fastening the panels with epoxy but after one blew off they went to bolting them through the roof. It appears this is still the case. Loren

It is hidden by the upper cabinets and the finished interior, not visible at all...

As I understand it 5 out of the first 500 17b's had problems with the glued on solar panels.
We have been 6000 miles without incident with ours. We do check it visually at each refulling stop on the road however.

for those interested...this info came from ETI this week (01/10/2017) when what "solar ready" option was and how much it cost

"At this time I do not have a cost associated with Solar Ready. We have recently changed our Solar Ready option to make it much friendlier for after-market installation. This new system will include easy to locate wiring for the Solar Panel as well as a roof-mounted hub to easily install the panels. We should have this pricing available in the next couple of weeks."

Did Escape do any reenforcement to the interior roof? I didn't put the build list and kinda wish I had.
