Inverter

Howdy. I’ve got the full inverter package in my 2017 17B. I’ve always wanted to know does the inverter just being turned on with nothing plugged into any of the AC sockets still put a load on the batteries? If so, how much is that?

Thanks!
Jonathan

Yes. If it is the GoPower 1500 watt inverter usually put in Escapes, with the inverter in the power save mode it draws .1 amp. If switched on, 1.5 amps of no load current.

Thanks Vermilye, I kinda suspected that the inverter itself draws when kept on.
My wife and I met you in the parking lot across the border from Chilliwack in 2017; believe you were picking up your new 21 then.
We’re having trouble keeping the 2 6V batteries healthy on a ten day stay in Moran State Park (Orcas Island WA) due to a shady camping spot. Should have plunked for rooftop solar but wired the 17 with a Zamp plug and are using their double panel external unit.
Really liked your thorough discussion about lithium battery conversion. I’d have to figure out an internal spot to store the lithium as sure couldn’t keep on the bumper, both from temperature extremes considerations as well as security. I also don’t have your electronics experience so [emoji51] dunno! But tempting!
Best, Jonathan
