Question Just curious, ETI use of brass vs plastic PEX fittings

I noticed in pics posted here that Ron in BC's September 2019 E21 has brass elbow and Tee PEX fittings (albeit with plastic water heater bypass valves).

David Murphy's December 2018 5.0, and my own August 2021 5.0, have all plastic PEX fittings.

Nothing of consequence, just a matter of curiosity - what do other owners see in their trailers of a given model and vintage?

Looks like a bit of a mixed bag.

But first, the posted photo related to access to the rear wiring for lights on a 19. The photo is from my 2014 E19. Brass fittings at that time.

My 2019 E21 Classic has plastic fittings.

But a person with a newer one has brass. So, a mixed bag, and I wonder why they switched back to brass. I definitely prefer brass fittings.

Ooops, bad assumption on my part , thanks for the correction, Ron (unfortunately I can't now edit that post).

IMO it'll be interesting if more folks post, perhaps there was a past era when brass predominated? Perhaps ETI's always been inclined to the usually less expensive plastic with brass used when that's not readily / timely available for whatever supply-chain reason?

As mentioned, just a matter of curiosity ...

I would think brass or plastic just depends on what they can get from a major manufacturer at the moment.
Escape is a smaller manufacturer and probably not ordering 10 thousand at a time.
The brass and plastic are interchangeable, so they don’t stop production and use what they can get in a timely fashion.

The only down side to plastic is they are less tolerant to freezing.

Our 2022 has plastic pex fittings. Makes sense, because they are lighter.

In a house that wasn’t being moved, brass. In a trailer? Plastic, and use a pressure reducer.

Just my $.02

My 2021 5.0 came with plastic fittings. After about a year I noticed a leak at the water heater. One of the fittings wasn’t fully inserted into the pipe prior to crimping. For about $50.00, I purchased a crimp and cut tool, some assorted fittings (brass, just because) and some red and blue Pex pipe I keep under the rear seat. I think I’m covered for most repairs.
