LED light dimly on while turned off

I couldn't search this because LED is too short to search and light brings up a bunch of furnace posts. So I'm sorry if it is answered already.

The light over my bed came on one half but not full brightness and the switch is turned off. If I turn it on it works normally. When I turn it back off it returns to a dim light on one side. Is it some kind of night light I don't know about?

I'd suspect a defective switch. A quick way to tell would be to pull the fuse for that circuit. My guess is that the light wouldn't keep glowing.

I turned the switch off that cuts power in from the battery and it went off but came back on when I reconnected the battery. I figured out that I can search for LEDs and I believe I found the answer. Is seems excessive moisture can infiltrate the switch and cause power to leak past the switch. We are out in CA getting rained on for several days and boiling some water. I'm pretty sure that is the problem. We're heading home Friday and I'll dry it out.

Thanks for the suggestion.

In the 19' I just bought, that particular light fixture has two LEDs and a 3-way rocker switch. To one side turns both lights on, middle position is both lights off, and to the other side turns just one light on. Any chance you're flipping past the middle switch position?

Of course, LEDs draw so little power, it would be pretty easy for moisture (and maybe a little dust mixed in) to create a sufficient conductive pathway to produce some light in an LED.

I had a light do the same thing a few years ago. In my memory haze I think I recall it had something to do with a couple of rainy days. I put it on my list of things to repair, and when I finally got around to it, it had fixed itself. Moisture for sure - the cure was some dry air.

In the time I've had it I've occupied it for a total of maybe 40 days. I don't think I'm only switching that one wrong. Maybe the switch is wearing out. I think if the switch was moving a little too far towards on I would get a normal light brightness. It goes to normal brightness as I turn it on. Others have said it was related to moisture and we definitely have a high moisture environment right now. I'll dry it out this weekend and report back here.
