Light Leaf Solar Panels

In one of the more recent Escape Livestream broadcasts there was mention of a new solar panel being considered for use at ETI. Since it is a Canadian product does anyone have experience with Light Leaf Solar. The panels are monocrystalline, very light weight, and tough (according to them). I am thinking that having something so lightweight it could easily be placed on top of my truck tonneau cover while parked in the direct sun and connected to the Zamp port. As always new doesn't always mean good. Opinions? https://www.lightleafsolar.com/

I didn't see any mention of their warranty/guarantee on their website. A bit of a red-herring for me anyway.

In my experience, when used as a portable setup, being extremely lightweight is a drawback, not an advantage. Even my heavy Zamp portable setup has been blown down by wind...imagine what some moderate wind would do to these.

Good Point. I contemplated attaching solar panels to the truck in some manner, both for security and stability. Wouldn't leave the panels up while driving or even in place on the ground when not nearby. Only advantage to the truck install was security. Where we live having the truck in the shade is nice most times of the year which would make TV attachment even less attractive. Thanks for the advice.

Looks like a nice product but a little pricey for me.

Personally if I was to use a flex panel in a portable configuration...I would use the provided holes in the panel to strap it to a honey comb style 2 x 4 ft ceiling panel. This would allow the rear to vent but also rigidity that may make it last longer.

I agree, I had heavy panels blown over and smashed by a high gust of wind that came from nowhere. Always something to be aware of.

Of course these new panels appear to be indestructible so maybe that wouldn't be a problem.

They do appear to be a high quality product, I like the structural aspect. I use flexible panels as portable panels but for my use I had to add a lightweight aluminum frame. These panels would eliminate that need.
