It's "Hott Rod". The other downside is that propane-only water heaters are not intended for the heat input rate of running the propane burner and electric element at the same time, so protective shutdowns and relief might not be at appropriate levels.

The alternative mode of use, as I do, is use one system or another, separately, not both at the same time.

I so rarely shut off the added internal switch (and didn't want one with an indicator light) that rather than mounting it facing the visible interior space, I mounted it under the driver's side dinette (rear) seat.

Dual-source water heaters have two thermal cutoff switches mounted on the tank, one for each source. The pressure relief valve might be different, but might not be.
