that large round black 'vent' at the front curbside is the bathroom fan.
the vent near it is, afaik, for the black tank. the vent in the middle of the curb side is for the grey tank. only the kitchen sink uses a 'p-trap', the bathroom sink uses a HepvO valve as does the shower, these don't need anti-siphon vents at each trap.

Battery box "sealed".........definition of sealed? - I was a FF many moons ago - battery (even old lead acid hydrogen fueled type) explosions can get ugly...........a runaway lithium can get REALLY bad.....

Hmm.............thought I had seen construction pics / discussion of a vent in the sink wall of the bath that was "open" inside the wall. Also do not believe ETI uses HepvO as standard?

Thanks for the pic!

Sounds like a good idea.
I've had my Escape since 2008. I don't know what size the black tank is, but I do know that when it's full, it's time to empty it.

Wise course of action..................

Appears, that at 13.2g for the 21NE, it will have to be emptied often (likely too often for that sized trailer).

What black tank capacity was advertised when you were initially shopping for your trailer? And then post deposit?

I have no idea, but it doesn't sound like you are going to be happy.

Not sure what you put in your black tank but based on opinions expressed by others on the forum and my experience the gray tank is what fills first.

Hi Paul
That’s been our experience for the way we camp too. I was toying with the idea of getting an auxiliary tank I could dump mid week but the covid cramped our camping style so haven’t done it yet. And I addition it would be used for mostly shower and dishwashing water.
Hope you’re getting ready for the Mississippi River Rendezvous in September. Free tarp this year? We’re looking forward to it . Hope you’re having a good summer

I started this thread asking a few technical questions about the 21C.

For those that answered such, Thank You.

Of course it has been hashed out many times before but there is more to consider than black tanks and batteries.

For my wife and I we like to sit up front and look out the window at all the people walking by and activity as where we camp we are usually backed into the bush. Also the narrower bed of the 21c and it being at the door was a non starter for us.

You will have people in different parts of the country say their best views are out the rear of the trailer and they like the end loading bed rather than the side loader of the 21ne.

Good luck on your choice.

Since I have read on this form that the front storage box is easily broken into, I am happy that the expensive lithium battery is inside under the dinette.

"the 13.2 gallon black in the 21NE is what has me looking elsewhere..........13.2g "
In the specs the 21NE says the black water tank is 22 gallons.
Which is correct?

I verified with Melisa @ ETI the black tank is 13.2 gallons. She said it has never been 22 gallons and they are working on correcting the website to reflect this.

the lid of the box has a foam gasket, and is clamped in place. there'sa 2" or 3" vent hose to the outside.
