I like the idea of this unit but $200 seems a bit steep if a $50 tank will solve the problem too. But if I find I don't have room for the tank, this sounds like a great option. The noisy pump at night has always driven me bonkers so I'm glad Escape found a solution. Do you know what size accumulator Escape is installing? 1 liter? 2 gallon?

I was considering installing an accumulator, by have found that the by-pass feature on the pump works well enough to avoid pulsing issues during low water flow. That said, it did require a bit of adjustment from the factory settings to get it to work well.

I'm a solo traveler, pump sound has never bothered me, nor has 'pulsing' others have mentioned. IIRC I've replaced one pump in ~20+ years with these systems, so the claim of increased pump longevity due to reduced cycling isn't really a factor for me.

I don't think they add too much complication or risk of problems, and most installs I've seen don't really take meaningful otherwise useful space, but it's not a mod I've ever been incited to undertake.

As always, YMMV, No Worries!
Im with you, Alan. I actually installed one and later removed it because I did not see much benefit. I removed it when the pumps internal check valve failed a second time (not related to the accumulator). I put a stand alone check valve on the output side of the pump and I have had no more backflow thru the pump, filling and overflowing the fresh water tank. I typically have connections because I do not want to be without AC, and on the few occasions I am off grid, the pump noise does not bother me and I have never experienced surging at the faucet.
