No Hot Water

Camping in the Mohawk Trail State Forest in Massachusetts, no shore power. Furnace and stove are working fine, so no propane problem. Switched on water heater on inside panel, but after an hour, no hot water. No heat in heater, so clearly not igniting.

Likely problem? Bug in propane feed? Igniter failure? Too late tonight to troubleshoot, and no harm if no hot water, as we're only staying one more day. But I'm curious--worked fine both boon docking and on shore power last trip.

Circuit board failure

There's electronics controlling the water heater and another Escape owner recently went through all the failure analysis and finally ordered a new circuit board (Dinosaur brand) and whoop! Hot water.

Search the forum for this issue and repair. It's been noted and written about.
Also check the obvious...fuses, contacts in good contact, etc.

Good luck!

Your avatar mentions "new to us, April, 2022", is there a history of hot water issues?

Not so far as I know. Heater worked on our last trip to Maine.

Start with the simple corrections first. Use a blast of compressed air to clear any possible obstructions in the chimney and fire chamber. A small piece of rust or even a spider web can disrupt the flame and cause the heater to shut down.

Thanks for all the suggestions. In the morning I went out and looked at the water heater; saw nothing obviously amiss. Scratched my head and went back in and just for the halibut, clicked the switch. It started right up.

I guess it just needed a good looking-at.
