No power to trailer
Looking for some help,
We washed our 5TA ysterday, I 'm not sure if that has anything to do with our problem or not.
We disconnected the electricity prior to washing the trailer. Since washing it, we have no power.
I have a surge protector. When you plug the trailer into the house ( into the GFI plug)
The surge protector does the front end checking, indicating there are no errors, then when it clicks and goes to let the power into the trailer, it just shuts everything down and defaults the GFI plug to the house.
Reset and tried several times, tried another GFI In the house- same results. Checked breakers and fuses all OK.
ANy thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

There's a GFI breaker on the outside outlet.

If some water ended up in the outside receptacle, that will trip a GFCI. Usually it will be the one in the receptacle, but it could trip the one at the house once the delay is over from the surge protector. If you have a air source, try blowing out the receptacle. If not, dry what you can, then wait..

You can also by pass the EMS to see where the issue is.

Tried the gfci on the outside trailer receptacle but with no power to the trailer the reset / buttons don't work.
How does one by by pass the surge protector?

if you have the remote display there is a switch on the display, otherwise you will have to get the manual out for the non remote switch.

Sometimes you have to hold the reset button down for a minute or so on the GFI outlet for it to reset. Carl

How about turning off the 120vac breakers in the trailers converter/power distribution panel.

Reset button needs to be pushed in deeply. Could wait a while and something may dry out.

Hi: Chapitre... Check the kill switch for the battery disconnect in the rear of the dinette. Shut it off and then back on. Ours sometimes looks like it's on, but it really isn't. Alf

Chapi,
I read through your descriptions, and see the following clues.
1. Your trailer is plugged in to a GFI receptacle at the house.
2. You then washed the trailer.
3. Plug in; surge protector analyzes the house power, then engergizes the trailer;
4. Then house GFI trips.
Most reasonable conclusion, based on what GFI's are designed to detect, is that there is a water-path somewhere in or on your trailer that lets electricity go from the 120V circuit go to ground. It only takes the tiniest amount of current.
I would turn off all of your trailer breakers, then plug in to house power and see if the GFI stays on after the surge protector analyzes and allows power flow. If so, then you can turn on breakers one-at-a-time until the GFI trips. That will be the circuit to examine for water (probably where water under pressure could be forced into some terminals; E.G. plug socket, or light fixture.)
Or let the trailer dry for a day, and see what happens.

Thanks everyone for your input, after a couple days went back to the trailer, tried the power and sure enough it's on again, I guess something got damp from the washing, and with time it dried out.
