Questions on the 1500 Watt inverter
1. Does anyone know the make/model of the 1500 Watt Inverter ($850) on the 2017 21' Escape?
2. Is it a modified sine wave inverter or pure sine wave inverter?

In past discussions the Samlex SSW-1500-12A has been listed as the supplied 1500 watt inverter; however, specific models of equipment can change with time, so the current model would need to be confirmed with Escape. The Samlex SSW series are "pure" sine wave inverters.

Location of the 1500 watt inverter on a 2017 21' Escape
Does anyone know where the inverter is installed in a 21' Escape?

I think it depends on the dinette. U-shape or standard. All I know is my buds that have a standard dinette (classic) and the placement in Ten Forward is different.. because I have the U-shape dinette.

It does depend on dinette type. Cathy showed all of the electrical components in her discussion of 21' electrical photos; those show the inverter beside the battery case in the back bench of the dinette, but this location doesn't exist in the standard dinette. The battery location in a standard dinette is in the curbside dinette bench, so that would be a logical location for the inverter, but that would need to be confirmed.

Thanks Brian B-P...
Assuming the inverter is a Samlex brand, their installation directions call for a 1.2 meter maximum distance from the battery. So, I would agree that the curb side rear bench would be the logical location.

For those of you interested, ETI has advised me that the current inverter being offered is the Carmannah GP-HS 1500, this is a High Surge, Pure Sine Wave Inverter.

Thanks.
This is a return to the Go Power! product line from Carmanah: 1500 Watt HIGH SURGE Pure Sine Wave Inverter
The Carmanah GoPower! website and product manual show the actual appearance. The image above is of a different but related model (the GP-SW-1500-24).
3000 watt surge... I'm waiting for someone to try running their air conditioner from it.

That makes sense. The GoPower GP-HS1500 equivalent statement (from the manual) is:
Quote:
Please use 10 ft or less of #2 Cable with a 200 Amp fuse.
|
Red Dog, did ETI confirm the location?

Interesting. So, that means a different remote too. Probably the GoPower GP-SWR-B, although it's hard to find which remote goes with which inverter. Here's a more current photo of the inverter, and one of the likely remote.

The manual and brochure (linked from the product page) say that both GP-SWR-A and GP-SWR-B can be used with the GP-HS1500-12 (and not the other models of remote). The GP-SWR-A is just a remote on/off switch, while the GP-SWR-B also has voltage, power, and status information.
The photo difference isn't so much a matter of being current versus outdated: the other photo was the SW (not "HS" for high surge capacity) and 24-volt (not 12-volt) model of the current product line.

I'd assume Escape will be using the GP-SWR-B, only because the Samlex remote offered a status display too. Obviously someone with one on order should confirm that.
