roof top solar wiring cover?

I wonder whether there was/should be a plastic cover for the rooftop solar connection.

It is a weather proof cable entrance. No need for a cover.

The guide plate on one end makes it look like it might be missing a cover, but that's the complete and weatherproof Go Power cable entry plate.

I was afraid the rubber would dry out in the sun and crumble with time.
I guess it that happens, I can just replace the parts.
