Solar technology is advancing so rapidly that I am going to pass up the factory installed solar on my upcoming 19 build in favor of getting it done as an aftermarket system. I need to do a lot of homework on that issue before I feel comfortable making the leap. I also plan on a 2,400 watt to 3,000 watt generator for my trailer. From reading the Forum I know they have their detractors, but I'm not one of them.

The detractors don't like the noise, that's all. If you're not surrounded by other campers who would be disturbed by the generator noise, then rock on.

One application for the spray on solar cells may be to spray on top of the heads of the follicle challenged. Would serve the dual purpose of simulating an spf 50 sun block and they could also charge their cell phones while on the go.

Dave,
Let me take the opportunity to correct your misconception. Follicle challenged refers to those for whom it is necessary to apply brush or comb. For the rest of us, the excess mental development has precluded hair growth. Put colloquially, God don't put marble tops on cheap furniture.
Back to topic: The spray-on application merely opens the door to differing substrates. The efficacy of energy conversion remains about the same.

If you're going the aftermarket route for your solar installation then I recommend AM Solar in Springfield, Oregon, not far from you. They installed a second solar panel on my 21, plus a battery monitor and additional cabling. They seem to know what they are doing and I'm satisfied with the result.

This was meant as a reply to Oregonian's post about aftermarket solar for his Escape 19.

Thanks Mike, I've heard about AM through Technomadia's blog entries regarding Solar. Jeff
