Standard waste hose
I have seen posts saying the waste hose is third rate.. We will be doing cross country after pick up, and am wondering if I should pony up for a better hose. If so what brand. Thanks Stan

I think most people replace that 3rd rate discharge hose with a RhinoFLEX. I know I did more than seven years ago. RhinoFLEX is available nearly everywhere from WallyWorld to Amazon.

Although the stock Escape hose is useable, we plan to upgrade upon returning home later!

I've owned an all-molded towable since 2002, both trailers had full bathrooms. I've never felt the need to view sewage.  Using plenty of water and good chemicals is a good idea too. Don't want to have a blockage!

If you place your hand on the underside of the hose, you will feel the hose vibrate as sewage passes. When it stops vibrating, it is no longer draining.

We ordered the sewer kit. It wss a Rhino hose, think it also included the 90°end fitting. ETI also included the crappy hose as part of the standard package. The sewer kit had chemicals and holding tank toilet paper. Our tow vehicle is a jeep grand Cherokee, heading to the factory with clothes for cool weather, cooking equipment, etc we were glad to have ETI (for an additional fee) take care of the waste water equipment.

I threw mine away without even taking it out of the packaging.. I bought the rino hose because of reports of the inferior ETI supplied hose.

ETI supplied one is ok, just not reliable  aka flimsy
Ours broke after maybe 10 uses
We were not super careful with it, though - and I don't mean stepping on it, we just didn't fold it carefully enough for storage and didn't unfold it straight enough when draining. If any tension applies, either during storage or draining, it might break (tear).

No. I replaced it with a slightly heavier hose, but I didn't replace it until I needed to.

Yah, isn't amazing how folks love to slam stuff. 
It's not the highest quality hose but I used mine for several years before replacing it. Actually it's still usable and I carry it as a spare.
Replacing the standard hose without ever using it seems like a solution in search of a problem.

We didn't even get our original hose dirty - just keep it way under the bed as an emergency spare for use only if/when/as needed, e.g. if some pathetically desperate scofflaw absconds with our once-shiny-new Rhino hose. The short clear piece is useful not just to detect outflow, but more "interestingly" to see when the outflow transitions from not-clear black water to clear rinse water. A short clear 5" or 6" straight piece is also useful cuz it extends the coupling face for the hose out from under the trailer a bit - easy to attach and makes for an easier-to-reach target for the hose. We use a 15' Rhino and a (still unused and clean) 10' spare Rhino section just in case.

I bought a 2 lengths of rino hose and a box of fittings for $20 on FB marketplace.. They were clean as a whistle, look like never used Why take a chance with the POS ETI supplies? I live in Florida. Many people get in and out of RV ing.. Lots of stuff on the used market for stupid cheap.. Most of it unused or minimally used.. Yup could have saved $20....

don't know the problems people have with escape supplied hose, but
used the blue hose we received with trailer from 2015-2019 and plan to use
this summer...have rhino onhand if/when it finally gives-up. have a great
spring/summer everyone. sorry to miss the rally again, but will be in bc
and yukon come july/august...f.gunderson
