Too cold to run dehumidifier

Today it became too cold to run the dehumidifier.
It iced up.
Should be OK because winter is drier but I'll put a humidity meter
out there just to be sure.

Around here when it gets cold it gets dry, is that not the case on your side?

We mostly get rain from November to March here in the Fraser Valley area.
It is rare to get snow that rain doesn't wash away after about 4 days.
I'm looking at a thermostat that runs it when the temperature goes above 5 degrees Celcius.
You can see that I have a barb and a hose that runs from it to the door, the hose is just deflecting the rubber gasket around the door.
Without the drain hose it fills up and shuts off about every 5 days.
