Want to replace the flat LED

Apologies if this question is a little off topic but since it's electrical I pose it here. I want to replace the flat LED supplied with the fixtures Escape installs. Picture here is the one in the lavatory. Have searched in vain for a replacement that matches the LED base seen. Printed you can read E333645 on the thing but if that's the base type it's a dead end.

Why do I want to replace it? I want something warmer and much less intense. The 921 replacement wedge doesn't seem to match up.

I trust you have tried SuperBrightLEDS.Com for their catalog of products. They are the definitive solution for led's. Tough website to negotiate but they have everything.

I think you may have to look for a pancake style instead of screw down. The screw down seem to be some customized version and may not having the color choice.

In my home I have used 2700 Kelvin almost exclusively as it emulates incadescents the best. I did find a 2400 kelvin for some low recessed floods, looks great to my eye in that application. Just giving you some goals for color, not sure what is available in 12 volt.

Myron, It looks like a wedge base, I replaced some with a standard wedge base bulb, less leds, less brighter. Try inserting a license plate build and go from there. The vent light also may work.

Pop the cover and put a few layers of parchment paper from your grocery store baking aisle in there. Works good and it's cheap.

Hi Myron, Yea looks like a wedge mount base. found some places that sell replacements, not sure if they will work for you ? I think I will give the parchment paper a try.

See the PDF at:
https://media.wix.com/ugd/c78951_b34...1e399abd00.pdf
Go to the 2nd page, PN=WP05-0133
You may want the warmer version PN=WP05-0133-NM
It says it is wedge base.

LED Bulb WP05-0133
LED Bulb WP05-0133-NW
Or pick some other bulb.

It should be a 921 miniature wedge base. This should work. Get the warm white.

https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...5/#tab/Reviews

Based on what Doug provided above your current bulb is 203 lumens and 3500K "Natural White". The bulb I selected above is 130 lumens and 3000K "Warm White". There are other styles at the same website with even lower lumens if you desire.

Ok, I scoured superbrights and allenoffroad and the other suggestions but still had my doubts, mainly because I had a mini-wedge LED on hand and it wouldn't fit in the fixture but also it looked like them wedge contacts wouldn't mate up in any case.

Parchment's a last resort for me because when you want the bulb you want the bulb. So, being confounded, bewildered, feeling mangled and as flummoxed as Sean at a briefing, I'm now working up a good head of steam.

I'm buying rebar at Lowes today so stop by the lighting aisle looking for bulbs to fit and I find this little 5 watt wedge mount for 5 bucks. What the heck.

It fits! It works!

Myron: Nice work finding a solution. Not sure this was the issue but I've had some LED wedge bases that fit so tight you would think it is the wrong bulb. A little squeeze on the contacts usually does the trick.

The Halogen 5W isn't LED but gives me the dramatic difference I wanted. Second picture is the LED I had on hand but despite being a wedge absolutely would not fit in the fixture. Guess all mini-wedge bases are not alike.

Halogens put out a lot of heat Myron, so you'll have to keep an eye on it. They could potentially melt the fixture, etc. Also, draws quite a bit more than LED for boondocking purposes.

True, but thing is that light's only practical use ever is for lighting up the way for a couple-twelve second midnight visit.
