Or you can do it the easy way and plug in the toaster.

I never thought of English muffins on the grill. that will solve my toast problem.
Might skip the inverter, I have a small 750 watt i could use for charge devices .

My wife and I were camping by Lake Mead on the trip home from Chilliwack. The temperature was 99 degrees and we had just picked up a small fan. (I now there are 12 volt fans, but this is what we had). The inverter running the fan was a lifesaver. As someone else said, better to have and not need than need and not have.

I assuming a 12 volt tv would be a better option . I will get the duel 6's and solar , I will run a CPAC machine .I have DC converter that will convert the 12 volts to 24 volts that the machine needs.
where also considering a oven instead of microwave or just using outside grill.

I realize there are things we cannot run on the inverter, but we're getting it so we can just keep using pretty much the SAME stuff we use when we have shore power! I mean, isn't that the whole point? We won't have to shift stuff around and reconfigure as much. I like it.

we it depends on how the person Uses the trailer. To me the whole point is not to need shore power. everyone has different needs. over the years I have had 3 pop-up and 3 Casita's . I can only remember One time where I had shore power. You would think this would make a inverter a must, but besides the toaster I cant think of anything i use it for.well i should not say that because there are some things i like to run air and electric heat witch would not work to well with a inverter.

Just being able to leave all of our wall-warts ( chargers ) plugged in, knowing they will still work off grid, will be great. THEN there's the wife's hair dryer...

Just thought I would mention that if you think you might just wait and do it yourself if you wish to have a 1500W inverter, think long and hard beforehand, something I never did. I just though, not a tough add later if I want one. We, after the fact my wife decided we should have one for a few things. It cost me just about as much for all the components as Escape charges as an option, plus the time to get it done.

We have done that a bunch too. It works for thick breads done on high heat so you can cook them quick, otherwise things start to dry out. Bread is almost a no go unless you are making croutons. The same with a toaster over too.
The advantage of an electric toaster is that it toasts relatively fast with the elements right beside the bread, resulting in little drying. Oh, and you can set it and leave it.... no burnt toast. We don't use one in our trailer, but are considering a two slice unit.

I have a portable 350W for charging small stuff (shaver and toothbrushes) otherwise wherever I put in USB adapters and extra 12V outlets.

Mark,
I'm curious as to why you don't run your HF rig directly from your battery? Does the radio have an internal power supply (a lot of them do not)?
Oh, and I use my inverter for running my microwave, but after reading this thread I may start using it to run a vacuum as well.

If anyone is in the market for a camera, the Sony A7 will charge its battery by plugging the camera into a USB charger. I was happily surprised to discover this, as I didn't know of a camera that would do this and wondered why. The Sony also comes with an external 110V battery charger, and it's a pretty good camera as well.

But, if you want to charge quickly or multiple batteries, you are much better off using a faster charger. After selling off my Canon gear, I had thought to buy an A7, but ended up with a much smaller a6500 for portability sake. It uses the same batteries as the A7, and after a few times charging in camera, I bought a dual battery charger connected to a charger with a much faster charge rate. I bought a couple more batteries too, man these things are small.

We have the ETI inverter and all plugs supported.
When off grid we don't use the microwave or the electric toaster since we don't have solar and are stretching the batteries. (By the way, this toaster gives much more even results that the old pyramid ones https://www.amazon.com/Camp-A-Toaste.../dp/B0064DRNAC
We do use the 110 plugs for electronics recharging, fans, LED computer monitor. As others have said, I like not having to have 12V special appliances since we are on and off grid about 50/50.

The other design of stove-burner toaster uses a metal mesh (instead of a slightly perforated steel sheet), and holds the bread horizontally. These are sold by GSI and Primus, and probably others. I haven't tried them, but the mesh seems likely to be an improvement.

Small, but not cheap.
Yes, one drawback of mirrorless cameras is that they suck power. No use even going out the door without having two charged batteries with you.
