AllStays Subscription Based Update

A heads up as the travel season approaches -

AllStays Camp & RV has changed to a subscription based app. For those with previous paid or free versions you need to go to the app store & update your version to avoid constant notices.

According to the app description, all those with paid versions will continue to have free access. It doesn't not that the free versions available when it first started will also continue to be free, but mine did update & works as usual.

Let us all hope the new subscription fees will provide them with enough capital to update their maps. I think Allstays probably has some of the best ways to find a place to camp (either overnight or longer term), but I cannot stand the map program they use.

The fees for all of these programs is starting to add up as well. I am guessing that between Campendiium (and their partners), Harvest Hosts, Allstays Pro and The Dyrt (I probably missed a few) one could spend hundreds of dollars a year.

Hey Jon,
Thanks for the heads up. I went on AllStays yesterday and saw the new fee structure, I thought I had paid a onetime fee for the app but couldn’t remember. Those of us that did pay in the past are grandfathered in after we update the app.

Rita had to reload her app but it did upload and update so she was happy. She had a message exchange with a customer service person and told me it was pleasant, professional and timely. So I think we’re set for a while again. We use this app sometimes but not traveling extremely long distances most days, we usually have our stops either reserved or “in mind” and it’s been a while since we have felt any concern for “where are we going to stay tonight?”

On most any trip we take we are usually in a CG where we’ve stayed before about half the time if we’ve been that way before. Many times in the same site and sometimes in a “better site” we reconnoitered on a previous stop over.
I mentioned to friends once where my favorite site was in a CG 400 miles from home. My friend remarked that he preferred the site next to our favorite because his satellite worked better there. Small world department.
