America's Quietest Routes
Here are the quietest routes in each of the 50 states, according to Geotab. I'm not that surprised that I've been on several of these roads:

Hey Mike, while you've been on those quiet routes have you had much of a chance to use your omni-directional antenna? How's that for a thread shift. I'm just about to get serious about installing an antenna but just looking through the reviews I found a bunch of not too happy people. I do like the size of the King and not having to aim it but I hate reading negative reviews about a product that I'm considering buying.

America’s quietist routes? What even does that mean? The road is so smooth your vehicle tires don’t make a sound rolling on it? There’s never wind whistling through your closed windows? No one ever honks their horn at you? No braying cows or horses along the roadside?
Let’s see, what else makes a route quiet? Ah, no racing police cruisers, lights and alarms blasting away. Drones and crop sprayers dive-bombing the trailer. Oh, I know, thunderstorms. I remember one drive in Montana, surrounded by at least a dozen of them, near and far, all around us in that big sky. It was a little scary. There's always Death Valley-- a pretty quiet ride for other reasons.
Maybe by quiet the guy means lonely. That stretch west on I-40 from the Texas line to Moriarity gets my vote. Never drive it without you be certain your gas tank is topped off.

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. The only time I've used it on a trip was earlier this year when I was in the Sarasota, Florida area. There I picked up stations from more than fifty miles away. I have to point out the antenna was on top of my twenty-foot mast. It works fine from there. Mounted directly onto an RV's roof it might not work so well. I really like not having to aim the thing.

I thoroughly enjoy taking lesser traveled routes and consider a trip a success if I drive a couple I’ve never driven before or after driving a good two-lane blacktop for a few hours, we end up at a no services, nearly empty campground that is free or with the pass, costs less than a cheeseburger at a slow food restaurant. I knew we were out there pretty good last summer in North Dakota when we could see a white object on a hillside ahead that we could not readily identify. As we passed the object it was a stove with the oven door down. A hand painted sign identified the significance. It said simply “Open Range”. Two pictures “free”

I find as I get older most of the routes now driven have become more quiet. I also find I'm turning up the volume more and more these days........coincidence?
