Barge trip

in the early 90's an entrepreneur/Rv enthusiast started doing TT/Rv on barge trips on the lower Mississippi river. Barge was modified to to accept Black/grey water and provide Fresh water and Generator Ac connection. I remember the early reports in the press and 1st trip almost had a mutiny because customers didn't want it to end... Has anyone on here been on a similar trip? Are they still offered these days?

I recall something similar to having your Escape on a railroad car and being pulled through the country....

A few years ago I looked into the barge trip and found that it no longer was in operation. Maybe it will start up again one of these days.

The trip on a flatbed through Mexico's Copper Canyon was a popular railroad ride, but it no longer is available. I don't believe it is currently done anywhere in the US.

My parents did that one with their Airstream group long ago, they had a hoot of a great time and shared lots of great pics and anecdotes upon return.

Sorry to hear that's abandoned now but not too surprised, it's different times now in Mexico (as everywhere else for various reasons).

Unfortunate that the Mississippi barge thing seems to be in the past, too.

There was a rail service for RVs to Churchill, Manitoba... because there's no highway to Churchill. Then the rail line shut down in 2017 due to flooding damage. It was sold, fixed, and restarted in 2018; however, I don't think the RV service is offered anymore. It was always more of a trip to get to the destination (polar bears in Churchill) than a trip to enjoy the scenery along the way.

Yes, and the owner died about two years ago.
