The up to Taughton Lake in the Chilcotins. Nothing much to write home about, we were visited by momma grizzly and her three cubs...
After that I went mountain biking in the high meadows which were spectacular...
A night outside Lillooet, at Fraser Cover where we hit the smoke...
Then onto Juniper Beach outside Cache Creek where we hid in the bug tent to avoid the cinders
Dark orange skies.

Then Finally into wine country. Lake Okanagan,. Still lots of smoke haze.
the Caravan..
Nice sites at Okanagan Lake Provincial Park. We scored a last minute reservation and got a front row site.
Then up to the Salmon arm area where we had a curious visitor.
Then home.
A great trip in a wonderful caravan.
Regards
David And Darrell

Vey nice! Really too bad about the fires. We got the smoke in Washington as well. Question, why aren't the side arms of your awning fully deployed up to the top? I have not seen an awning deployed that way before.

Arniesea, always done it that way... Made sense to me that way they would support the weight on them. never really looked any other ways! I'll try as you suggest is the norm...

Otherwise only the spring switch is keeping your awning out, once you raise the arms and lock and tighten them down, then they take the strain off the spring inside your awning.

Here is an excellent orentation video from ETI that shows everything about the first generation trailers. The Awning deployment procedure starts at the 18:00 mark.
Cheers!

Good choice on the truck and trailer combo, and even on your first name. For a minute I thought you were me.

Ice-Breaker,
Gave me a double take there as well... until I saw that it wasn't my FJ. I have a different roof rack and you've got "Big Ears" on your mirrors!
Looks like our type of camping as well. Where was that?

The big ears on my mirrors are the Milenco Grand Aero towing mirrors. I find that they work quite well and give me a much wider field of view when towing than the stock FJ mirrors.
I believe that the picture I showed was taken in Zion National Park about 3 summers ago during July. Was extremely hot, about 43°C in the afternoons. Was best to do most site seeing or hiking earlier in the day before the heat got too bad.
