Harris Ranch Express BBQ

Just a side note; Harris ranch off the 5 fwy in Coalinga, CA opened a Express BBQ where the old Subway was. They have plenty of RV parking (over night) and an area to walk your dog with trees, 28 gas pumps, plenty of restrooms and a good BBQ.
Happy Camping.

You must be in the only non smoke covered place in California, the news depicts fires all over the state and spreading.

I didn't know that they'd opened an Express BBQ. We usually have dinner in the restaurant so that's a nice option.

The only part I don't like is driving by the feed lots.

Not to dismiss the terrible fires taking place right now in California but its a very large state and the majority of it is unaffected. The sad part is the loss of lives and animals and the beautiful forest they live in.

LOL, I am with you on that but after a while Ehh I cant even tell( really depends on wind direction). But for a spot to fill up with plenty of pumps (28), restrooms, and to grab a little BBQ its hard to beat in the middle of no where. Beats the heck out of an other Mc's.

actually, the past couple days, the smoke from the yosemite and redding fires have covered 3/4ths of the state, and can be seen as far east as Kansas.

We are camping in the Eugene OR area. The other night the moon was orange from the smoke. It looked like the lunar eclipse.

Right now it's clear, but the smoky air seems to be on-again, off-again.

Sierra Nevada

Just returned from our High Sierra retreat, had such a wonderful time. Once again time is running out, winter is a coming! it was cold up there.

Bear performed great and kept us nice and cozy, even made new Bear friends.

Happy Camping
Tin.

In Croatia for last 3 weeks- on Cres island now and very nice, especially Istria yet can't wait to get back to the Eastern Slope! Nothing we've seen in the National Parks here comes close to what we have in the U.S. for camping. Wish we were half as patriotic as we've seen almost everywhere else including and especially our northern neighbors.

Hi Rossue,
Glad you are enjoying Croatia but you need to hurry up and get home.
The Sierra's are getting mighty cold, not much longer before the white stuff takes over.
On the bright side, Alabama hills is going to be spectacular with snow capped Mount Whitney hovering over it. then a quick drive over to Death Valley between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Hi Hilola,
Not much into campgrounds or campsites, more into getting out and enjoying the beauty around us.
